Our Power is Expanded when Our Stories are Connected

We believe the story of America lives in its people.

About Postcards From America

Stories are the threads that bind us together. From cave wall etchings to digital postings, making sense of who we are has been reflected in how we tell our story. Today, our nation’s story is being told by corporations, influencers, politicians, and headlines — but what about the voices of everyday people?

Postcards From America is a grassroots project connecting the stories and experiences from communities across the US, asking one simple question:

“What is living in your town like for you?”

The answers are handwritten, anonymous, and unfiltered — no digital trail, just honest, in-the-moment reflections captured in pen and paper. From sidewalks to skyscrapers, farmlands to beaches, these postcards reveal the shared humanity that connects us all.

Together, they form a living portrait of America — not from the top down, but from the ground up. Sharing our stories allows us to hear each other.

Bringing together the stories of people in communities across this country allows us to tell an American story big enough for all of us to see ourselves in it.

Join us in building a collection of postcards that reflect the real, lived experience of America.
Share your story when you see us in your town.
